Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital Names Sparks New Nurse Manager|
FORT WORTH, Texas – Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital administrators promoted Gina Sparks, R.N., to nurse manager of the progressive care and medical telemetry units. Sparks, formerly a staff nurse serving multiple departments of the hospital, brings 19 years of nursing experience to the position.
In her new role as nurse manager, Sparks will oversee patient care, operations, staffing and development for the progressive care and medical telemetry units.
Sparks began her nursing career in 1989 as a nurse technician at All Saints Episcopal Hospital. Nine years later, she joined Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital’s nursing staff serving in the medical/surgical department, telemetry department and intensive care unit. She left the hospital in 2001 to become a staff nurse at Huguley Memorial Medical Center in the cardiovascular and medical intensive care units and the progressive care unit, and returned to the hospital staff in 2006.
Most recently, Sparks has worked as a staff nurse serving in day surgery, the intensive care unit, and other departments of the hospital. She also has served as the nursing supervisor once a week.
Sparks received her associate’s degree in nursing from Tarrant County Junior College in 1990. She plans to work toward a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington.
