Texas Health Facilities Named among Best Places to Work|
ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Resources hospitals in Plano, Southlake, Flower Mound, Rockwall and Arlington have been named Best Places to Work by Modern Healthcare magazine. Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery Plano was ranked No. 3 in the country and took top honors as the highest-ranked employer in Texas.
"We are honored to receive this recognition," said Larry Robertson, president of Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery Plano. "Our employees truly love what they do and we are fortunate to have built a culture of support and engagement, resulting in superior patient care and high satisfaction scores."
The Plano surgical hospital has been recognized by the magazine for the third year in a row.
The other four Texas Health hospitals named Best Places to Work, all joint ventures with physicians, are:
The magazine’s annual Best Places to Work in Healthcare program recognizes employers for creating workplaces in healthcare that enable employees to perform at their optimum level to provide patients and customers with the best possible patient care and services.
"The recognition of Texas Health’s joint venture hospitals shows the dedication of management and physicians at each facility to creating an environment not only where patients want to seek treatment, but where employees are happy to come to work each day," said Krystal Mims, senior vice president for care continuum and collaboration with Texas Health Resources. "We are proud that Modern Healthcare validated the efforts at these facilities to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve."
The hospitals recognized go the extra mile in not only recognizing employees in formal ways, such as recognition programs, but also creating a fun atmosphere to work. For example, one hospital president has dressed up like a turkey and surprised employees with turkey coupons at Thanksgiving.
"Being named to Modern Healthcare’s list of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 2012 demonstrates that the Texas Health hospitals have built a culture where employees are supported and engaged, which benefits not only patients and customers but the employer’s financial performance as well," says Fawn Lopez, vice president and publisher of Modern Healthcare. "These healthcare employers are models for others who are seeking to build a successful culture, resulting in optimum performance levels and benefits for their organization."
