Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano Names Director of Joint Replacement Services|
PLANO, Texas — For Marque Broussard, aching joints are just part of a day’s work as the new director of joint replacement services at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. The program has been certified by The Joint Commission for its hip and knee replacement programs.
"This role provides an opportunity to utilize every aspect of my nursing, administrative and industry experiences in total joint replacement devices," Broussard explained. "Furthermore, I wanted to align my career with a world-class joint replacement program as prominent as Texas Health Plano."
Hailing from Baton Rouge, La., Broussard has more than 20 years of combined nursing management, business marketing and orthopedic device experience. Prior to his post at Texas Health Plano, Broussard held staff nursing and surgical nurse management positions with Our Lady of The Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He actively participated in nurse management leadership and institutional councils, and also served on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association of Louisiana.
Broussard holds two bachelor's degrees — one in general studies from Louisiana State University, and the second in nursing from Northwestern State University. He was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society during his nursing studies. Additionally, Broussard holds a master's degree in business administration from LSU. He was also a non-scholarship football player for LSU and remains a lifelong Tigers fan.
"The experience [at LSU] fostered a true understanding of teamwork, sacrifice and dedication," said Broussard, who is one of eight children.
When not knee-deep in orthopedic work, Broussard enjoys spending time with his family — wife Cindy and daughter Morgan — and outdoor activities including road biking and freshwater fishing. He also enjoys traveling, and of course, watching LSU football games.
"I hope to utilize a collaborative partnership model for the joint replacement program," Broussard said. "It is my opinion diversity, collaboration and accountability moves teams forward all the while supporting, nurturing, developing and educating each other for the single purpose to provide excellence in patient care."
