Women’s Imaging Center Opens at Texas Health Alliance|
FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance opened a new imaging center to give women in North Fort Worth and surrounding areas more resources for maintaining and improving breast health.
At the new Women’s Imaging Center, located in the hospital’s professional building, physicians on the medical staff and certified clinical professionals provide mammography, stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound and bone density exams.
“Women lead busy lives with packed schedules, so having a convenient and reliable option for mammography and other health services close to home is important,” said Dr. Robin Skrine, a breast oncology surgeon on the medical staff at Texas Health Alliance. “Detecting and treating breast tumors in early stages of development help improve a woman’s chance for survival.”
One in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. An annual screening mammogram, recommended for women age 40 and older, can help detect breast cancer at its earlier stages.
Most screening mammogram appointments do not require a physician referral. To schedule an appointment, call 682-212-2050.
