Texas Health Springwood Hospital Names Director

BEDFORD, Texas — Veteran behavioral health professional Ross Teemant, LCSW, has been named director of Texas Health Springwood Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford, a premier provider of behavioral health care operated by Texas Health Resources. Teemant assumed his new responsibilities July 1.

Texas Health Springwood operates five outpatient centers across the Metroplex and an inpatient and outpatient behavioral health hospital in Bedford. The hospital offers a full range of inpatient, outpatient and partial hospitalization services for adolescents age 13 to 17 and adults 18 and older.

“At Texas Health we believe the availability of behavioral health and addiction treatment services is crucial to maintaining a healthy community,” said Ramona Osburn, FACHE, vice president of behavioral health for Texas Health Resources. “Ross has the experience, skills and compassion to lead Texas Health Springwood in providing these critical services in stressful times.”

Teemant started at Texas Health Springwood as a social worker more than a decade ago. He subsequently served as a coordinator and manager at the hospital. In 2011 he was named director of Texas Health Seay Center at Plano, which operates inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. He served in this position before being named to his current position at Texas Health Springwood.

Teemant earned a bachelor's degree in behavioral science from Utah Valley State College. He then obtained a master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington.

An avid indoor and beach volleyball player in his collegiate days, Teemant enjoys family and church activities.
