Stout has more than 30 years’ experience in health care governance, as well as in health and corporate law as a certified paralegal. She works with the Texas Health executive team to administer and coordinate governance and board operations for 27 boards of trustees across the health care system, including boards at the system level and at each wholly owned hospital, physician organization, foundation and other entities.

“Under Luanne's leadership, Texas Health has a nationally recognized, gold benchmark-standard governance system that is well respected by health care peers and industry associations across the country,” said Douglas D. Hawthorne, FACHE, chief executive officer of Texas Health Resources.

During her tenure at Texas Health, Stout has played an integral role in the development of trustee relationships across the organization, overseen the reorganization and standardization of board activities and governance practices, and improved trustee orientation, communication and education. These activities led to Texas Health receiving the first Excellence in Governance award from the Texas Healthcare Trustees Foundation in 2002 and being recognized by two American Hospital Association Blue Ribbon Panels on Governance for best practices in 2007 and 2009.

Stout also has served on the speaking faculty for the Center for Health Care Governance, state hospital associations and other health care governance conferences. She has been featured and has published articles in a number of national health care governance and leadership periodicals.

Stout holds master's and bachelor's degrees in health care administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is also a certified paralegal and completed four years toward a bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Texas at El Paso.
