HMFW Employee Appointed to the National Association Medical Staff Services’ 2007 Board

FORT WORTH, Texas – Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital (HMFW) is pleased to announce that Karen Reed, PhD, CPMSM, BS, HMFW's director of medical staff services, was recently named treasurer of the National Association Medical Staff Services' (NAMSS) 2007 national board.

The organization is committed to the professional development of individuals who work in the medical services arena so that they may deliver quality health care. Reed is one of twelve people appointed to the national board by the 4,000 professionals who comprise NAMSS. Reed's initiative within HMFW's medical affairs and her involvement with the organization on a state level gave her the necessary experience for appointment to the national board. As treasurer, Reed will oversee NAMSS' financial resources, develop an annual budget and chair the Audit and Finance Committee. She will also manage the organization's investments.
