Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital Expands Patient Care|
FORT WORTH, Texas — A new, expanded Emergency Room at Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital (HMSWH) will add exam and treatment rooms to the emergency department to provide more patient care to more people throughout the community.
The new Emergency Room and a new laboratory are part of a two-story addition to HMSWH. The new ER will increase the current number of exam and treatment rooms from 10 to 22 with the ability to expand up to 38 rooms. These rooms include two triage rooms, six major treatment rooms, two orthopedic rooms, two obstetrical rooms, 20 minor exam rooms, two trauma rooms and four observation rooms. The new emergency department will encompass 19,416 square feet in an area that also includes a radiographic room.
Construction began on the project in September and is expected to be complete by February 2003.
