HMHEB Names New Vice President of Patient Care Services|
BEDFORD, Texas — Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital has named Lucy Norris, M.S.N, R.N., as its new vice president, patient care services. Norris began her new position October 15. Norris will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, clinical, regulatory and financial performance, and success of the hospital’s nursing services.
“Lucy brings with her a wealth of experience in patient care and physician relations,” said Deborah Paganelli, CHE, president of Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital. “Her personal philosophy regarding patient safety and quality blends well with that of our hospital, and she places great value on the front line nurses who care for our patients every day. She will quickly become a crucial member of our hospital team.”
“I was most impressed that Lucy always considers herself a nurse first,” said Robert Rowland, M.D., chief of the medical staff at Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital. “Although she has extensive administrative experience, it is always important for nurse and physician administrators to not lose touch with our primary identities, and that is to take care of patients.”
Prior to joining Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital, Norris served as principal of Norris FSG, Inc., which provides interim Chief Nursing Officer and other high level nursing leadership services to acute care facilities across Texas, including Southeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, King/Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles and RHD Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Norris also served as the senior vice president for patient care services at Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas in Fort Worth.
Norris received her bachelor and master of science degrees in nursing from Texas Women’s University in Denton. She is a member of the American and Texas Nurses Associations, and the American and Texas Organizations of Nurse Executives. She also serves on the Multicultural Advisory Board for the Ph.D. in Nursing Program at the University of Texas at Arlington.
