Safety Action Learning Tool Earns National Award|
ARLINGTON, Texas –
A Web-based Safety Action Learning Tool (SALT), designed to support Texas Health Resources' Integrated Delivery Network's mission to improve patient safety, has garnered a second national award for the Arlington, Texas-based health care system.
The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) today honored THR with its Innovator of the Year Award for SALT. The SALT program was previously honored by the American Hospital Association in its Hospital and Health Networks magazine with an Innovator Award.
“We are proud that our SALT program is recognized nationally as an innovative tool that improves communications in the activities supporting patient safety and quality,” said David Muntz, chief information officer of Texas Health Resources.
The award was presented on Wed., Oct. 19 at CHIME's Fall CIO forum in Boca Raton, Fla. The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives serves the professional development needs of healthcare CIOs and advocates the more effective use of information management within health care. With membership of over 950 CIOs, CHIME has established itself as the premier organization serving the needs of healthcare CIOs. CHIME's educational initiatives are supported by the CHIME Foundation, a group of 56 providers of healthcare IS products and services.
