Harris Methodist Walls Regional Employees Raise More Than $22,900 for United Way|
CLEBURNE, Texas — Employees at Harris Methodist Walls Regional Hospital have generously opened their hearts and their pocketbooks to support the United Way.
In the 2008 campaign, Harris Methodist Walls Regional Hospital employees raised more than $22,900, surpassing the campaign goal and topping previous totals.
“Our employees prove time and time again how much they care about the community in which they live and work,” said Blake Kretz, president of Harris Methodist Walls Regional Hospital. “Even during tough financial times, our employees have stepped up and donated an incredible sum of money to agencies in Cleburne and the surrounding communities.”
Pat Stiver, director of business development and community relations at the hospital, led the campaign.
“I was impressed with how many people increased their giving over past years,” Stiver said. “These donations make such a difference to agencies worried that donations will dry up with the recent economic troubles. Our employees are helping agencies with missions ranging from building houses for people in need, afterschool programs and extracurricular activities, Meals on Wheels, and senior citizens causes.”
Harris Methodist Walls Regional Hospital employees joined with the remaining 18,000 Texas Health Resources employees to donate more than $1.2 million during this campaign. In the past nine years, Texas Health has raised nearly $8 million from its annual United Way campaigns.
