Texas Health Resources Wins Two Awards for Web Site|
ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Resources has won two honors for its Web site, TexasHealth.org, in the 12th annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards. The awards are presented by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends.
“We are proud of the recognition of our ongoing efforts to add features and function to TexasHealth.org,” said Charlie Dierker, consumer portal manager. “With a recent relaunch of the site we have continued to assess the existing offering and find ways to make it more user-friendly.”
Texas Health was awarded a Gold Award for “Best Newsroom” in the Healthcare System category. The judges in particular were impressed with a new feature that displays news releases specific to each Texas Health entity. Judges also were impressed with the Business of Healthcare Report and Texas Health in the News features, as well as embedded video, RSS feeds, leadership bios, facility photos and easy-to-find contact information for public relations representatives.
Texas Health also won the Distinction Award for “Best eBusiness Site.” Judges noted the new classes and events feature separated TexasHealth.org from other sites. Judges also praised the online registration system that is integrated with the system’s Call Center database.
More than 1,100 entries were submitted for the 2008 eHealthcare Leadership Awards. In addition to recognizing excellence in Web sites, the awards are designed to showcase the role of the Internet in helping an organization achieve its business objectives.
“Texas Health has an outstanding team developing and maintaining TexasHealth.org,” said CEO Doug Hawthorne, FACHE. “Charlie and his team do a fantastic job staying on top of trends in the industry and are constantly looking for ways to improve the site. As more patients, and their families, become savvy about finding health care information on the Internet, health system Web sites are gaining in importance. With the Internet team’s help we are leading those changes and providing excellent information to our patients, their families, the media and our vendors.”
