Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital Auxiliary Donates $27,000 for New Patrol Car|
FORT WORTH, Texas — The Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital auxiliary board graciously donated almost $27,000 to the hospital’s security department for a new patrol car.
The auxiliary board raised proceeds for the car through various fundraisers throughout the year, said Mary Jones, volunteer coordinator for the hospital. Volunteers also raised funds through the hospital gift shop and baby photo service.
“The support of these wonderful, hard-working volunteers is greatly appreciated,” said John Jones, supervisor of security for the hospital. “Our department needed this vehicle badly.”
The auxiliary has made extensive contributions to the hospital since its inception in 1993. Projects include furnishing the family room in the Emergency Deparment, purchasing a podium for the education department, providing a portion of the funds for a bladder scanner and supplying a tent for Car Seat Safety Checks.
