Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital Names New Director of Women’s Services|
ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital administrators have appointed Lori Bethel, R.N., to the position of director of women’s services. Bethel brings 26 years of clinical nursing experience — with a focus on surgical care — to the position.
In her new role as director, Bethel will oversee the hospital's labor and delivery unit, neonatal intensive care unit, mother/baby unit and gynecology.
Most recently, Bethel served as director of surgical services and interim director of women’s services. She joined the hospital’s surgery department in 2001 as a staff nurse and was promoted to nurse manager three years later. As nurse manager, she began a reward and recognition program for the unit.
Prior to joining Texas Health Arlington Memorial, Bethel worked as a surgery nurse, surgical services coordinator and sterile processing manager at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky., from 1983 until 2001. She received an associate’s degree in nursing from the Lexington Technical Institute in 1983 and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky in 1986.
