Harris Methodist H•E•B Offers Free Blood Pressure Screenings during May|
BEDFORD, Texas — During High Blood Pressure Education Month in May, the Harris Methodist H•E•B Fitness Center and Cardiac Rehabilitation Department will offer free blood pressure screenings to the Northeast Tarrant County community to increase awareness of the importance of prevention and treatment of high blood pressure.
Participants will receive a free blood pressure screening, along with educational materials.
No appointments are necessary, and walk-ins are welcome. The free blood pressure screenings will be available during the following hours:
Monday thru Thursday: 5 a.m.– 9 p.m.
According to the American Heart Association, close to 1 in 3 adults in the U.S. has high blood pressure, which is the number one risk factor for stroke. Untreated high blood pressure can also lead to heart attacks, heart failure and kidney failure. Getting blood pressure screenings is extremely important, since 30 percent of those with high blood pressure don’t know they have it.
