Texas Health HEB Auxiliary Donates Books to Elementary Students

BEDFORD, Texas — The Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford Auxiliary recently donated books as a present for each of the 106 graduating kindergarteners at Bell Manor Elementary. The hospital auxiliary also donated more than a dozen books to the school’s library.

Auxiliary members presented the books
Auxiliary members (from left) presented the books: Auxiliary President Linda Barron, Lynda Moore, Loraine Sekula, Cindy O'Harra, Diane Brammer and Stephanie Fein.

"We wanted all the children to have their very own book as they learn the magic of reading," said Linda Barron, auxiliary president. "We know how important that can be to a child."

"Some of the children's parents are also learning English," said Carolyn Braxton, director of the Texas Health HEB Volunteer Services/Auxiliary. "So the books will benefit them as well."

Each year at the beginning of school, the auxiliary also provides back-to-school packs for kindergarteners and first-graders.
