Texas Health Southwest Names New Manager of Pastoral Care|
FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth administrators have appointed Timothy Madison, Ph.D., BCC, as the new manager of pastoral care. Madison brings more 20 years of leadership in pastoral care to the position.
In his new role, Madison will lead the pastoral care program for the hospital and manage all spiritual care needs in clinical areas. He will provide spiritual care, crisis intervention, and support services to patients, employees, and families, and mentor clinical pastoral education students.
Most recently, Madison served as the chaplain manager for spiritual care at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill. While there, he pioneered the hospital’s first chaplaincy program and established a volunteer on-call team. Before that, he was the department director for pastoral care at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He also instructed ethics and humanities courses at Indiana University Southeast and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Madison earned a bachelor’s degree in religion and psychology from Union University in Jackson, Tenn., in 1980. He later earned a master of divinity in pastoral care and a Ph.D. in ethics from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
Madison is board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains. He was ordained by Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tenn., in 1980 and endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship in 1997.
