PHW Welcomes New Chief Nursing Executive|
WINNSBORO, Texas — Presbyterian Hospital of Winnsboro (PHW) welcomes Lisa Tarkington, CCRN as its new chief nursing executive. She began her new role at PHW in March 2008.
Tarkington’s responsibilities include overseeing the hospital’s nursing services and advancing the recruitment and retention of nurses at the hospital. She serves on the executive leadership team and plays a key role in PHW’s strategic planning.
“Lisa brings extensive leadership experiences to our hospital,” said Mike Sinclair, administrator for PHW. “We are delighted that she chose to join our staff and help us move Presbyterian Hospital of Winnsboro to a new level of nursing care.”
With more than 15 years of health care experience, Tarkington most recently served as clinical director of the 52-bed cardiac inpatient unit at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. Prior to joining Good Shepherd, she was a clinical director for the critical care unit (CCU), intensive care unit (ICU) and dialysis unit at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur, Texas. She has also served as a CCU, ICU and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurse for several years at various hospitals in southeast Texas.
Tarkington holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, and a master of business administration degree in management from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. She presented several abstracts at the World Congress of Cardiology in Sydney, Australia, in 2002 and has also been published in Nursing Management magazine.
