Britt Berrett Named President of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas|
Berrett has been the president and CEO of Medical City Dallas Hospital since 2000, and is expected to assume his duties at Texas Health in late January, reporting to Steve Hanson, senior executive vice president for system alignment and performance at Texas Health.
“Throughout his career, Britt has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in quality, service and culture,” said Hawthorne. “He will be a great fit for the mission, vision and values of Texas Health Dallas and the Texas Health system. He’s a proven mentor and developer of people, and we expect him to be instrumental in creating stronger collaboration among our hospitals and help us continually improve the delivery of care.”
“Britt is intently customer-focused and has an open, approachable management style that engenders trust with medical staff and employees,” added Hanson. “Couple that with his ability to incorporate input from physician stakeholders and drive clinical operations as a business, and you have the kind of leader that will thrive within the Texas Health environment.”
"The values of respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence are the reasons I entered this profession, and I am grateful to join an organization that lives their mission and vision,” said Berrett. “My family and I have established very strong personal relationships in the community. I’m excited about the chance to continue expanding my professional relationships in the North Texas health care market and take on new challenges in an excellent health care system.”
Hawthorne added that while serving as CEO of Medical City Dallas, Berrett has been actively involved in community benefit activities and understands the market dynamics in North Texas.
“His blend of experience as a leader of both investor-owned and nonprofit hospitals in competitive markets will be valuable in helping him guide Texas Health Dallas,” Hawthorne said, “and will help him understand the Texas Health culture.”
