Texas Health Resources Announces Plans to Build New Hospital in North Tarrant County|
ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Resources, the largest health care system in North Texas, has purchased land in north Tarrant County with plans to build a full-service hospital near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Golden Triangle Boulevard.
“North Tarrant County is one of the fastest growing communities in North Texas with limited health care resources to meet the needs of residents,” said Barclay E. Berdan, senior executive vice president of system alignment and performance at Texas Health Resources. “Growth in this market will give us the opportunity to provide better coordination of care for patients throughout Tarrant and surrounding counties as well as reach new patients.”
Groundbreaking for the new hospital is scheduled for fall of 2010, with hopes to begin offering services in late 2011. Texas Health is currently in the early designing and planning stages of the hospital, which will include an emergency room, outpatient and surgical services, physician offices and acute-care inpatient beds.
“Our top priority is to bring necessary medical services to the community so that care can be accessed close to home,” Berdan said.
With two physician office buildings in Saginaw and Keller, Texas Health has had a presence in north Tarrant County since 2006.
“We are excited about expanding the services we offer to this community, as we work to fulfill our mission of improving the health of the people in the communities we serve,” Berdan added.
