03/25/2010

FORT WORTH, Texas — Burleson, Joshua and Crowley residents will no longer have to travel far to find comprehensive health care and medical services.

On April 1, Texas Health Burleson, a 53,000 square-foot medical center will open to the public.

The first of its kind in the community, this new facility gives residents access to comprehensive medical services including:

  • Women’s diagnostic testing
  • Imaging services
  • Outpatient rehabilitation for general, sports and hand therapy
  • Cardiac rehabilitation
  • Laboratory services
  • Fitness center
  • Free-standing emergency room (opening September 2010)

“Texas Health Burleson caters to residents who are accustomed to driving to another city for medical care,” said Rebecca Tucker, facility director. “This campus provides patients access to the same quality in care they have come to expect from the Texas Health Resources system.”

With the first high-field open magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system in North Texas, Texas Health Burleson touts the latest in technology and convenience for patients. The high-field open MRI produces images that are comparable to a high-field (closed) MRI but with increased comfort for the patient who suffers from claustrophobia.

The facility has also attracted physicians practicing in various medical specialties including family practice, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, orthopedics, and gastroenterology.

“Providing quality and leading-edge care in a convenient location was our goal for this facility,” Tucker added. “These physicians are bringing needed medical expertise into the community so patients do not have to travel far for care.”
