Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford Nuclear Medicine Department Earns Accreditation|
BEDFORD, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford’s nuclear medicine department has been accredited by the American College of Radiology.
"We are very proud of the hard work and dedication of our employees and the physicians on our medical staff, which has resulted in this important accomplishment," said Chris Gaines, director of radiology at Texas Health HEB.
The ACR Accreditation recognizes facilities that demonstrate high-practice standards in all areas of operation, including imaging and staffing. A peer-review evaluation is conducted by board-certified radiologists and medical physicists. During the evaluation, programs are assessed on image quality, procedure evaluations, facility equipment, quality control procedures, quality assurance programs and personnel qualifications.
"The ACR Nuclear Medicine Accreditation program is a voluntary process that Texas Health HEB chose to purse in an effort to continually grow and strive for excellence in all we do," added Gaines. "To maintain accreditation, facilities must be re-evaluated every three years."
The Bedford hospital also is accredited in Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
“Chris and the radiology department staff, along with physicians on the medical staff, do a great job,” said Deborah Paganelli, FACHE, hospital president. “This is another way of holding ourselves to high quality standards and prove we are dedicated to improving the health of people in the communities we serve.”
