AMH Names Dr. Ignacio Nuñez President of Medical Staff|
ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington Memorial Hospital has named obstetrician/gynecologist Ignacio Nuñez, M.D., as the president of the medical staff.
Nuñez began his two year term as president in May. As part of his new role, Nuñez also serves as a member of the hospital’s board of trustees.
Nuñez has served on the medical staff at Arlington Memorial Hospital since his first day in private practice, a quarter-century ago. He has seen many changes take place in medicine over the years.
“I have watched fee-for-service morph to HMO capitation, change to PPO; and witnessed Medicare and Medicaid deteriorate,” he said. “Physicians have organized into large groups to maintain a certain income level. Much like hospitals and health care systems, we’re all keeping an eye on the bottom line while maintaining quality care as our first priority.”
Finding ways for physicians, hospital leadership and Texas Health Resources to work together for the greatest outcome is one of Nuñez’s missions.
“We all have a common goal — to provide quality care to the residents of Arlington and the surrounding communities,” Nuñez said. “The medical staff body is constantly evolving to adapt to the current political, legal and economic climate.”
Nuñez attended the University of Texas at Arlington and UT-Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his residency at Methodist Dallas Medical Center and Parkland Health & Hospital System. Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, he is a member of the American Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, the Knights of Columbus and the Fort Worth OB/Gyn Medical Society.
