Texas Health Cleburne Named Top Performer in National Performance Improvement Project|
CLEBURNE, Texas — For the second year, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne has been recognized as a top performer in a nationwide performance improvement project designed to improve quality of health care.
The program, called QUEST, is a voluntary, three-year project overseen by Premier Inc. healthcare alliance. Taking part in the project enables Texas Health hospitals to compare results with 144 other hospitals across the country. Participating hospitals work to improve quality, measure progress and share data to create best practices.
The goal is threefold: save lives, safely reduce the cost of care, and deliver the most reliable, effective, evidence-based care.
“Improving quality and patient safety is the number one priority at Texas Health Resources hospitals,” said Michael J. Deegan, M.D., E.D.M., executive vice president and chief clinical and quality officer for Texas Health Resources. “QUEST and other voluntary quality initiatives we participate in propel us to continually raise the bar for quality in our hospitals.”
Texas Health Cleburne is among 25 percent of hospitals participating in the collaborative that reached top performance thresholds in all three areas measured. Texas Health Cleburne received awards for top performance on the following goals:
“Our employees and physicians on the medical staff have worked diligently to implement best practices learned from within our system and from hospitals across the country,” said Blake Kretz, FACHE, Texas Health Cleburne president. “Achieving all three goals for the second year demonstrates that Texas Health Cleburne has reached new levels of excellence in delivering health care and our patients are the ones to benefit.”
In 2009, Texas Health Cleburne implemented an electronic health record system which helps hardwire protocols and assists caregivers in treating patients. The record system has been implemented at other Texas Health hospitals allowing caregivers to share information seamlessly and securely as needed to treat patients.
