Observations
We train independent observers to monitor our staff and the environment to promote patient and family safety. We focus on many safe practices including hand hygiene, accurate patient identification, fall prevention and environmental safety standards.
Safe Surgery
Employees and physicians on the medical staff use a checklist prior to each surgery and procedure to confirm the right procedure is being done, the right equipment is available, and appropriate safety measures are in place.
Teamwork
We provide medical team training to promote effective communication and team work to provide safe, and trusted patient centered care.
Mother and Baby
Our culture supports nationally recognized programs, including the March of Dimes campaign, to reduce elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks.
Medications
At Texas Health we support the use of technology to correctly administer medications. Bar-coded medications and smart IV pumps are used to verify that the patient is receiving the correct medication. |
