Center of Excellence The Weight-Loss Surgery program at Texas Health Plano has achieved the distinction of being named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), one of the highest distinctions for weight-loss surgery programs in the United States. To achieve this recognition, the program was put through an exhaustive review of clinical practices, patient outcomes and facility compliance with ASMBS standards. The Weight-Loss Surgery program also had to demonstrate that it provides the latest in surgical options, as well as follow-up treatment for up to five years after a patient's surgery.
