HemoglobinopathyDefinition: Hemoglobinopathy is a group of disorders passed down through families (inherited) in which there is abnormal production or structure of the hemoglobin molecule.
Such disorders include hemoglobin C disease , hemoglobin S-C disease, sickle cell anemia , and various types of thalassemia .
