ICD-10 documentation training now available
ICD-10 will be implemented Oct. 1, 2015. Free ICD-10 documentation education is currently available to all members of the medical staffs, THPG physicians, APRNs, PAs, THPG practice staff and Texas Health employees with relevant job codes.
Why is it important for providers to adopt ICD-10 documentation concepts?
The purpose of this training is to address the new complexities of ICD-10 and the strategies needed to craft documentation that appropriately translates in ICD-10. The training will NOT focus on coding or CareConnect training. It WILL focus on documentation for both the hospital and ambulatory settings to help providers with the following:
- Fewer coding queries
- Fewer medical record requests
- Fewer medical necessity denials
- Fewer delays in payment and risk of mortality data
- Accurate severity of illness
Should I take web-based training or attend instructor-led training?
If your specialty is listed under the instructor-led training section, it is more advantageous for you to attend the instructor-led training. If you have already taken your web-based training, you are still encouraged to attend a live training. This training is not intended for practice managers or office staff.
Texas Health Employees & THPG Practice Staff
Texas Health employees and THPG Practice Staff (THM Employees) who are assigned ICD-10 training in MyTalent will need to complete it by July 15, 2015.
