- Rebecca Waggoner began her career in 2009 caring for patients on the medical-surgical floor and pediatric intensive care unit of a children’s hospital. Since that time, she has gone on to work in intensive care, neurosurgery and cardiology. She is an advanced registered nurse practitioner, and board-certified as an adult gerontologic acute care nurse practitioner.
Rebecca earned her undergraduate nursing degree at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash. She also has her master’s degree in nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice, both received from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Rebecca's areas of clinical focus include sports and exercise cardiology, preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease, heart failure management, structural heart disease, hypertension, pre and post operative care of open heart surgery patients, angioplasty, and other surgical patients requiring telemetry. She is skilled in pre and post cardiac procedural care and support including cardioversion, cardiac stress testing, critical care patient intubation, wound management, and other nursing support.
Rebecca is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Cardiology, America Board of Cardiology and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Nursing Society of Nursing.
