- Michael J. Duran, M.D., spent nine years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, including two years as a staff cardiologist at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, and two years in the office of the attending physician to the U.S. Congress. He was named the Cardiac Care Provider of the Year 2003 by the American Heart Association for Northeast Tarrant County.
Dr. Duran is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is fellowship-trained in Cardiovascular Disease.
He served as chief of the medical staff at Texas Health HEB and spent six years on the Board of Trustees of the hospital. He continues to serve the hospital as medical director of the Chest Pain Program and in several other capacities.
He has been married to his wife Phyllis for 35 years, has three children, one granddaughter and one grandson. He is an avid soccer player and former coach. He also enjoys playing golf.
