Elizabeth Batterton, M.D., is a fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland Va., and her medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten. She went on to complete her family medicine residency as co-chief resident at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. She was co-chief fellow during her fellowship training through the John Peter Smith Health System in Fort Worth.
As the former captain of her college varsity lacrosse and soccer teams, Dr. Batterton understands the desire of athletes and active individuals to maintain their musculoskeletal health with little downtime. Her special interests include administering minimally-invasive joint injections and nerve blocks, and addressing all facets of general musculoskeletal health.
Dr. Batterton is highly-trained to provide a broad range of orthopedic and sports medicine services. She has provided physician coverage for athletic teams at Texas Christian University, Texas Wesleyan University, Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and several area school districts. Dr. Batterton is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
