BLS for Healthcare Provider
The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (HCP) Course is a video-based, Instructor-led course that teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support. This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.
The AHA recommends that you take the time to review the objectives provided in the BLS for Healthcare Providers Student Manual to help you prepare for the program and the written exam. This textbook may be picked up in advance by contacting the Texas Health Arlington Memorial Education Center at 817-960-6408.
If you have physical conditions that might prevent you from participating in the course, please tell the instructor when you arrive. The instructor will work to accommodate your needs within the stated course completion requirements. The class is primarily driven by video instruction and therefore must begin promptly at the scheduled time; unfortunately late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.
