Joseph DeLeon, became president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth in January 2018.

DeLeon returned to Texas Health Fort Worth after almost five years as president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth. He is a former captain of the United States Air Force Medical Services Corps and has served in health care management since 1991.

DeLeon first joined Texas Health in 2005 as vice president of professional services and business development at Texas Health Fort Worth, where he was responsible for all ancillary functions, strategic planning and business development activities for the hospital. In January 2013, DeLeon was named president of Texas Health Southwest. Under his leadership, Texas Health Southwest achieved the Truven 100 Top Hospital two years in a row and the Pinnacle of Excellence Award for Patient Experience from Press Ganey. The Texas Health Southwest leadership team also worked to bring Texas Health Clearfork online and become a joint replacement destination.

DeLeon is an active leader in the community, serving as chairman of the boards of Texas Rehabilitation Hospital and the Tarrant County March of Dimes, and on the boards of North Texas Community Foundation and the Healthy Tarrant County Collaboration. He previously served as chairman of the board of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. DeLeon has been recognized many times for his leadership of the hospital, including a 2017 Minorities in Business Award from the Fort Worth Business Press. The awards recognize Tarrant County's top minority leaders in business and the community. Honorees are chosen based on professional achievements, community contributions, philanthropy and other milestones.

A graduate of Leadership North Texas, Leadership Fort Worth and Leadership Bryan-College Station, DeLeon was previously named to the Fort Worth Business Press 40 under 40 and holds a Certificate of Leader Development from the U.S. Army War College Commandant's National Security Program. He is a former captain in the Air Force Medical Service Corps.

DeLeon earned a bachelor's degree in political science and a minor in business management in 1991 and a master's in public administration in 1994 from Texas A&M University.

Jennifer Chavez, D.N.P., R.N., ACNP-BC, NEA-BC, CCRN, serves as the chief nursing officer of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, assuming the role in October 2021.

Chavez joined Texas Health Fort Worth in March 2020 and led the strategic planning, program development, business plans and day-to-day operations of clinical support areas including surgical services, radiology, pharmacy and laboratory.

With the consumer at the center of this transformation every step of the way, Chavez provides the clinical focus necessary to pursue the highest quality outcomes. She is a practicing acute-care nurse practitioner with a patient-centered orientation to care delivery. Her process-focused attention to patient care emphasizes the need for nursing excellence throughout the patient care continuum resulting in outstanding patient experience.

Chavez brings more than two decades of experience in various nursing roles and operational leadership. She began her career at Texas Health Fort Worth as a patient care technician and quickly advanced into a dynamic leader and associate chief nursing officer at Texas Health Southwest.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Texas Christian University and received her Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of Texas at Arlington. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Tech Health Science Center – Executive Nursing Leadership and is also actively involved in community organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the American Heart Association. She is one of the few individuals within Texas Health to complete the Advisory Board Executive Fellowship program.

Chavez and her husband, Michael, are the parents of three beautiful daughters. Outside of work, she values quality time with her family, as well as gardening.

Amy L. Papst, M.D., M.S.-H.C.T., serves as chief quality and medical officer at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, undertaking that role in March 2022.

A board certified anesthesiologist, Papst has a strong background in informatics and electronic health record (EHR) platforms. In a previous post as chief medical officer at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, she helped expand graduate medical education to more than 36 residency and fellowship programs and made significant reduction of healthcare-associated infections.

Papst completed medical school and residency at the University of Arizona and earned a Master of Science Degree in Health Care Transformation at the University of Texas at Austin while serving as CMO at Ascension.

She and her husband, Greg, have three adult children and an English springer spaniel named Doc, who loves to hunt. Outside work, she enjoys spending time on their ranch, hunting and traveling. She and her husband also are avid bowlers.
