The inpatient rehabilitation program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth serves
people from all walks of life who are dealing with challenges as
a result of injury, illness or disease. These can be physical,

Typical diagnoses made by physicians on the medical staff
include, but are not limited to:

- Multiple trauma
- Musculoskeletal disorders
Every rehabilitation patient has an entire team
of talented and caring professionals working to help him or her
achieve the best possible outcome. The medical director is a
physiatrist with board certification in physical medicine and
rehabilitation, and is a member of the medical staff.
The medical director is joined by other psychiatrists and
physicians on the medical staff along with case managers,
physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language
pathologists, rehabilitation nurses, chaplains, therapeutic
recreation specialists, respiratory therapists, dietitians,
psychologists and social workers. Of course, no team would be
complete without the patient and family.

members work together to plan, coordinate, and implement each
patient's individual treatment program and to track his or her
The goal of each patient's treatment program is a
return to the highest level of independence possible under the
circumstances. For some, this will mean complete recovery of all
abilities. For others, it will mean learning to live productively
with physical or cognitive challenges. The core of every
patient's treatment is a personalized, interdisciplinary plan
designed to meet his or her unique needs.
If a need should arise, emergency
services, surgical care, cardiac care and the full range of
hospital services are literally close at hand.
