Interim Program Director
Paul Gray, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia surgery with an emphasis on robotic minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Gray is passionate about excellence in patient care and surgical training, and derives great joy and satisfaction in working with residents as they take the next steps in their careers. He serves as the interim program director of the General Surgery Residency Program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth after having served as an associate program director in the program since 2022.
Dr. Gray received his bachelor of science degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended medical school at University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky and completed his residency in general surgery in 2007 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Bethany Malone, M.D., FACS
Bethany Malone, M.D., FACS, is board-certified through both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She practices broad-based colon and rectal surgery, providing endoscopic, open, laparoscopic, robotic, and transanal treatment modalities for diseases of the colon, rectum and anus.
Dr. Malone earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in anthropology from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts, and then attended medical school at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. She completed her general surgery residency at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, and completed her colon and rectal surgery residency at Allegheny Health Network based in both Erie and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Malone serves as chair of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons Professional Outreach Committee, as well as treasurer of the International Society of University Colon and Rectal Surgeons. She has presented at regional, national and international conferences, and has published multiple journal articles and textbook chapters. Her expertise has been called upon by Forbes, Healthline, and CNN Health. Dr. Malone has served as associate program director for the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth General Surgery Residency since 2023.
