  • Breast Care

Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Willow Park offers an array of women’s diagnostic services, making it more convenient for you to get the care you need close to home, in a warm and supportive environment.

    Digital Mammography

3D screening mammograms are the preferred type of exam at Texas Health Breast Centers. With a 3D mammogram, the machine takes images of the breast from multiple angles. A computer then creates a 3D image of the breast that the radiologist can examine like pages in a book. Additional benefits include:

    • Improves radiologists' ability to screen for and detect potential breast cancers.
    • Helps radiologists pinpoint size, shape and location of abnormalities.
    • Aids in distinguishing harmless abnormalities from real tumors, leading to fewer callbacks and less anxiety for women.

3D mammograms can also find microcalcifications (tiny deposits of calcium) that sometimes indicate the presence of breast cancer.

    Diagnostic Mammography

Typically, diagnostic mammograms are recommended for women who:

    • Have experienced issues, such as lumps, nipple discharge or other changes.
    • Experience persistent pain in their breasts, not related to menstrual cycle.
    • Were diagnosed with breast cancer within the last five years.
    • Experience a problem while pregnant or breastfeeding.

A diagnostic mammogram may take longer than a screening mammogram. The technologist may magnify a suspicious area to produce a detailed picture that can help the radiologist make an accurate diagnosis. Before you leave the center, the radiologist will review the images and discuss the findings with you.

If you meet the recommendations for a mammogram, your physician can write an order for a screening mammogram. Call 817-757-1500 to make an appointment or complete and submit your request online.

  • Bone Density Testing

Bone health is an important part of a person’s overall health, and women especially are at risk. The National Osteoporosis Foundation estimates that of the 10 million Americans with osteoporosis, approximately 80% are women. Asian, Hispanic and Native American women are at even greater risk for the disease.

    Bone mineral density tests:

    • Diagnose bone loss and osteoporosis
    • See how well osteoporosis medicine is working
    • Predict your risk of future bone fractures.

To help you keep an eye on your bone health, Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Burleson offers DEXA scans, a screening tool used to identify any decreases in bone density. This test uses low-dose X-rays, and is simple, quick (usually 15 minutes) and can be taken fully clothed. During these tests, a scanner will either be passed over your lower spine and hip, or over your wrist, fingers, leg or heel. The scan itself is painless.

    Schedule a Bone Density Screening

Your primary care provider or specialist can order a bone density screening for you. Once your physician has recommended bone density testing and you are ready for your screening, please make an appointment at Texas Health Willow Park by calling 817-757-1500.

  • Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac rehabilitation is a progressive program with a goal of helping you restore and maintain optimal health. The program also focuses on helping you reduce the risk of future heart problems through exercise, education, nutritional guidance and lifestyle modification.

    Who Benefits from Cardiac Rehabilitation?

Cardiac rehabilitation may help people who have had:

    • Heart attack
    • Atherosclerotic heart disease
    • Angina pectoris
    • Abnormal stress test
    • Valvular heart disease
    • Pacemaker or AICD
    • Heart failure
    • Angioplasty or atherectomy
    • Coronary artery bypass surgery
    • Heart transplant
    • Cardiomyopathy.

    Introduction to the Program

Our cardiac rehabilitation program includes education and continuous EKG-monitored exercise therapy, conducted by an exercise therapist and a cardiac rehabilitation nurse while under the care of a medical staff physician. The team also includes fitness specialists and registered dietitians.

After discharge from the outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program, you may choose to continue a maintenance program or gain a membership at the Texas Health Fitness Center Willow Park. An individualized maintenance program can be designed and discussed while you complete cardiac rehab.

    Ready to Get Started?

Medicare and many other insurance companies may cover a large portion, if not all, of the costs of cardiac rehabilitation for most heart problems. Insurance benefits will be verified before you start the program. A physician referral is required to begin the program.

If you or a loved one suffers from poor heart health and has been advised by a doctor to undergo rehabilitative treatment, please contact us at 817-757-1500.
