Smell the Roses

You’re in a hurry; your toddler is dawdling. You want to head right into the store; he wants to stop, stoop down and pick up a rock to examine.

If you find yourself saying, “Hurry up, we’re going to be late!” all the time, re-think your daily routine.

Giving your toddler—and yourself—a little extra time will de-stress everyone. And acknowledging his small discoveries, even when they occur on the way to somewhere else, is important to his focus and learning.
