Toe Walking Toddler

Many parents wonder about developmental problems if their toddlers regularly walk on their toes.

Toe walking is almost always an individual and temporary quirk, although rarely it can be a symptom of a physical issue, such as a short Achilles Tendon or an early sign of certain developmental problems, including autism.

Bring the habit to the attention of your child’s healthcare provider to see if the doctor recommends further evaluation. But rest assured that most children will outgrow toe walking by age 2.
