We are excited to announce that the 29th annual Puttin’ on the Pink Fashion Luncheon raised more than $190,000.
Because of your loyal support of Puttin’ on the Pink, Texas Health Resources Foundation is enabled to reach thousands of women in Fort Worth and surrounding communities who face barriers to health care, such as financial hardship, transportation challenges and cultural isolation. Six days a week, Texas Health mobile units travel to under-served areas to meet women in need where they live, work and worship.
Funds raised at this luncheon continue to make it possible to provide no-cost essential outreach in North Texas.
“Twenty years ago, I was introduced to the mobile health program. I was a new mother, uninsured, and with a strong family history of breast cancer. My mother begged me for years to get a baseline mammogram.
"She thought I was scared of the test. When I finally told her that it was not the test I was scared of but the result, she was speechless.
"Like so many of the women we are reaching in the community, I was scared of an abnormal result. What would I do? I had no insurance. I had low income. I was a brand-new mother. I would rather not know. Your attendance at this event and contribution to our program helps us educate and eliminate these fears.”
