The Level IV maternal care facility offers a Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), which is currently undergoing a $3.9 million expansion aimed at meeting growing healthcare needs in Collin County and surrounding areas.

“This award validates that we are meeting our goal of support and personalized care for a safe and unforgettable experience during the most important time of their life,” said Michelle Kelly, director of Women and Infant Services at Texas Health Plano. “The expansion of our NICU will allow us to continue to care for the smallest babies and also enhance privacy for the families.”

In addition, Texas Health Plano provides private and spacious maternity suites in the mother/baby unit to encourage family bonding. Each suite comes with flat-screen TVs, a full-size bathroom and a comfortable couch for a support person. Breastfeeding and postpartum support groups are also available.
