The Texas Health Forensic Healthcare & Violence Intervention Department’s mission is to promote healing for victims of interpersonal violence beyond the bedside by bridging gaps between medical care, community advocacy, and prevention.

Supported by Texas Health Resources Foundation, philanthropy plays a vital role in sustaining and expanding the lifesaving work of the Texas Health Forensic Healthcare & Violence Intervention Department. Survivors of interpersonal violence often arrive in crisis, facing not only physical injuries, but also profound emotional trauma and uncertainty about what comes next. Donors are able to help ensure that specially trained forensic nurses are available to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care, conduct comprehensive medical forensic exams, collect critical evidence, and connect patients with essential advocacy and community resources.

When you choose to support this program, you are strengthening prevention efforts, enhancing specialized training, and helping to remove barriers to care so that victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, and human trafficking can receive the dignity, safety, and support they deserve.
