Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is enhancing the level of care offered to local patients by introducing new and dynamic complementary medicine options.
Recent research from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) found that nearly 40 percent of adults and more than 10 percent of children have tried some form of complementary medical treatment. Health practices that are not part of conventional medicine, but work in conjunction with traditional medical treatments.
Texas Health Arlington Memorial's new complementary medicine program is helping patients heal with integrated practices. Treatments include aromatherapy, designed to relax and soothe patients, and Reiki treatments crafted to align the mind and body.
Other available complementary therapies include:
- Guided Imagery
- Meditation
Although the program is still in the early phases of development at Texas Health Arlington Memorial, feedback from both patients and hospital staff shows opportunities for growth.
