Texas Health Resources has named Brett Lee the president of Texas Health Hospital Frisco, which is scheduled to open in late 2019.

Lee brings a wealth of health care experience to his new job, having spent the majority of his career in leadership roles in pediatric hospitals. This includes serving as vice president of operations and clinical services at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, where he worked closely with UT Southwestern Medical Center to plan the opening of a new hospital campus in Plano and collaborated on the recruitment of multiple faculty members.

Lee also has extensive experience working in complex joint-venture environments, having served as the president of a joint venture between Tenet Healthcare and Baylor Scott & White Health that operated five hospitals in North Texas, including one in the Frisco market.

Lee earned a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Health Science in health finance and management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He also completed the Executive Program in Finance and Negotiation at Harvard Law School and earned a doctorate in Allied Health/Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. He currently is completing a Master of Science in leadership development from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

Lee is the first senior leader and first employee named at Texas Health Hospital Frisco, a collaboration between Texas Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center.

The acute care hospital will open with 73 beds and offer a 24/7 emergency department, surgical services, women’s services and a neonatal intensive care unit. The 120,000-square-foot UT Southwestern Medical Center at Frisco medical office building will house a multispecialty clinic that includes an extension of the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute, providing neurology, comprehensive spine care and an innovative concussion rehabilitation facility. Also part of the multispecialty clinic, the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center will offer colon cancer screening and treatment services. Specialty services will include ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology and dermatology.

A large part of the first floor will be dedicated to physical medicine, rehabilitation and therapy, with an emphasis on restoration of function and enhancement of performance for neurologic, orthopedic and other conditions.
