System ranked No. 63 on 2020 'Fortune' Best Workplaces list

ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Resources has ranked No. 63 on the 2020 Fortune Best Workplaces for Millennials. This is the third consecutive year that Texas Health has appeared on this Great Place to Work® list.

Results are based on what millennial-aged employees say about their experiences of trust and ability to reach their full potential at work, according to the Great Place to Work® survey. In addition, feedback from their daily experiences of innovation, company values and the effectiveness of their leaders contribute to the ranking.

Texas Health was recognized for successfully helping employees manage their work and personal lives and conveying a true sense of caring for the individual.

“Our ability to deliver high-quality, reliable care depends on all of our people feeling supported, cared for and being at their best,” said Carla Dawson, chief people officer at Texas Health. “It’s never been more important for us to support and take care of one another and we remain committed to the health and well-being of all employees.”

Tessa Kennedy is a 32-year-old nurse who works in the Central Staffing Office and began her career 15 years ago as an EKG technician at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital.

“Texas Health has been an excellent place to work and has provided me with so many opportunities for growth within committees and nursing units as well as furthering my education,” said Kennedy, BSN, R.N. “I’m currently working on my master’s degree and hope to continue my career at Texas Health after I graduate.”

Millennials at Texas Health make up 38 percent of the workforce and are an essential part of the Texas Health family. They work in every corner of the organization from front-line caregivers to administration with the top roles including nurses, patient care technicians and medical assistants.

“We recognize that these are the future leaders of our organization and it’s a privilege to be a part of helping them to achieve their personal goals and potential,” said Barclay Berdan, chief executive officer for Texas Health. “We also have a unique multi-generational workforce who listens to and learns from one another to truly make this a great place to work for all.”
