Texas Health Rockwall garners five-star status

ROCKWALL, Texas — Texas Health Rockwall was recognized as a 5 Star Hospital by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on April 30. This is a significant accomplishment awarded to only 27 hospitals in Texas and just 10% of hospitals surveyed across the nation.

Texas Health Rockwall, a prior 5 Star recipient, has remained committed to serving the community with quality care and high reliability as a health care provider of choice.  “I applaud the commitment and dedication of each of our caregivers ” stated Cindy Perrin, hospital president. “This five out of five star rating is an ongoing tribute to the safe, efficient and effective care they provide. What it means for our community is that they can access great care right here close to home.”

The CMS survey provides valuable and easy to understand information so that patients may be better informed.  The care compare site www.medicare.gov/care-compare outlines in depth how hospitals perform in key areas of quality, treatment of heart attack and pneumonia, readmission rates and safety.  Survey data allows patients to see for themselves how a specific facility compares to others when selecting where to seek care and treatment. Looking at the data reveals that Texas Health Rockwall scored significantly better in many areas and especially so in providing timely care to heart attack patients.

“We strive to consistently provide high-quality, safe and compassionate patient experiences by continually improving quality and safety through education and best practices added Tami Hawkins, Chief Nursing Officer. Moving forward, the hospital continues with its largest expansion to date, including a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Interventional Radiology Lab, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, additional procedural spaces and expanded services throughout the main hospital in Rockwall.  The project, expected to complete in 2023, will further enhance the breadth of quality care available in Rockwall County and surrounding communities, further facilitating additional healthcare services closer to home.
