The state rating system for maternal care programs and neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) to verify that hospitals have the resources and expertise to provide high-quality care to mothers and babies.

“We are proud to be recognized by the state once again for the exceptional care we provide to the women in our community. This designation demonstrates our continued commitment and investment to maternal health,” said Chris York, FACHE, president of Texas Health Dallas.

A Level IV facility provides comprehensive care for pregnant and postpartum patients, from those with low-risk conditions up to and including the most complex medical, surgical and/or obstetrical conditions that present a high risk of maternal complications.

More than 4,000 babies are born each year at the hospital’s newly renovated Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants.  The hospital provides comprehensive care for pregnant women, with programs focused on healthy pregnancies all the way through care for moms and their babies during and after delivery.

“Our goal is to provide a safe and memorable birth experience. This designation reflects the hard work, dedication and passion the women’s team has for caring for pregnant and postpartum patients,” said Suzanne Murphy, M.S.N., R.N., NE-BC, director of Women and Infants Services at Texas Health Dallas.

Texas Health Dallas is one of only 32 Level IV facilities in the state. Other Texas Health hospitals that have achieved this designation are Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
