PLANO, Texas — Clint Abernathy, M.H.A., has been named president of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, effective Nov. 30.

Abernathy joins Texas Health Plano after a decade serving as president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance. During his tenure, Abernathy led the hospital through remarkable growth and helped it gain recognition, including distinction as a Premier Top 100 Hospital three times. Under his leadership, the facility expanded from 50 to 151 patient beds and the hospital’s Emergency Department grew from 15 beds to 42. His leadership elevated the hospital’s clinical capabilities, earning it advanced designations in Primary Stroke, Trauma Level III, Maternal and Neonatal Level III, and Acute Heart Attack Ready, among others.

Abernathy previously served as professional services officer at Texas Health Alliance and held operational leadership roles at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where he advanced system efficiency, patient safety and service line development.
Abernathy holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Champlain College and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Dallas. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Quality Engineer, bringing a strong foundation in continuous process improvement, physician engagement and performance excellence.
