U.S. News & World Report publishes 2025-2026 rankings

ARLINGTON, Texas — Four Texas Health Resources hospitals out of nine ranked are among the best in Dallas-Fort Worth for high performance in multiple areas of care, according to annual rankings by U.S. News & World Report. In addition, 11 Texas Health hospitals received a total of 56 High Performing ratings in 22 adult specialties, common procedures and conditions, including Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas which received a national level High Performing rating in orthopedics.

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital is ranked No. 1 in Dallas-Fort Worth. Southwestern Health Resources network, which aligns the strengths of UT Southwestern with those of Texas Health Resources, has five of the top-ranked hospitals in Dallas-Fort Worth. Texas Health Dallas ranked No. 5. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth ranked No. 6. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano ranked No. 7, and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth ranked No. 9.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only 13% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals designation. Texas Health received High Performing ratings across 22 adult specialties, procedures and conditions.

To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care.

Texas Health Best Hospitals in Dallas-Fort Worth


Texas Health Dallas – ranked No. 5 in DFW and No. 18 in Texas; received High Performing in the report’s national adult orthopedics specialty; rated as High Performing in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, colon cancer surgery, diabetes, heart arrhythmia, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, hip fracture, knee replacement, leukemia/lymphoma/myeloma, lung cancer surgery, pacemaker implantation and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Texas Health Fort Worth – ranked No. 6 in DFW and tied for No. 21 in Texas; rated as High Performing in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, gynecological cancer surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, kidney failure, leukemia/lymphoma/myeloma, pacemaker implantation and stroke.

Texas Health Plano – ranked No. 7 in DFW and tied for No. 25 in Texas; rated as High Performing in colon cancer surgery, hip fracture, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, leukemia/lymphoma/myeloma, pneumonia and stroke.

Texas Health Southwest – ranked No. 9 in DFW and tied for No. 31 in Texas; rated as High Performing in back surgery (spinal fusion), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, heart attack, hip fracture, hip replacement, kidney failure and knee replacement.
