ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Resources has been named to the 2025 Companies that Care® list by PEOPLE magazine and global workplace authority Great Place To Work® — taking the No. 50 spot. The organization is the only Texas-based healthcare system on the list.

This is the fifth time the organization has earned this recognition.
“Healthcare is a service, delivered by people to people. That’s why it’s so important we create a culture where our employees can do their life’s best work,” said Barclay Berdan, FACHE, CEO, Texas Health Resources. “When we care for our caregivers, they’re in the best position to deliver exceptional care to our patients. We are proud of this recognition and celebrate and thank our team members for all they do each and every day.”
The PEOPLE Companies that Care list is based on employee survey responses and data from companies representing the experience of more than 8.4 million employees. Of those surveys, more than 1 million responses came from employees at companies eligible for this year’s list, and these rankings are based on that feedback.
Companies also submit essays that are validated by employee survey data to give a complete picture of the way an organization cares for its employees, its community and the planet. To be considered for PEOPLE’s 2025 Companies that Care® list, companies must be Great Place To Work certified and have at least 10 U.S. employees.
Honorees were selected based on their ability to care for employees, families of employees and the communities where they operate.
Carla Dawson, chief people officer, said Texas Health is focused on building a culture of community with opportunities for all individuals.
“We are working continually to attract, retain and inspire individuals to do their life’s best work,” Dawson said. “At Texas Health we intentionally focus on caring as one of six principles of Our Texas Health Promise. Since this recognition focuses on caring, it is especially meaningful as it is based feedback from our employees that not only do they care for others, but the organization cares for them and their families.”
Texas Health employees have access to a variety of programs that help them achieve a balanced life, including medical plan options and wellness resources. They can get counseling, legal assistance and financial resources through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Employees also can enroll in a generous 401(k) program with company match and get paid parental leave and paid time off both for personal use and to volunteer in their communities. Texas Health also supports leadership development and continuing education, including reimbursement of tuition and fees for approved degree plans.
The Companies that Care ranking is among multiple recognitions Texas Health has earned recently. Earlier this year, Texas Health ranked No. 33 on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For® list in 2025 — the highest among healthcare systems recognized. The organization ranked No. 3 on this year’s Great Place To Work® and Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Texas™ list. It also was listed as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for 2025 – earning five stars, the highest ranking presented – by Newsweek and data firm Plant-A Insights Group.
