Hospital recently completed renovation of MRI suite

ROCKWALL, Texas — Texas Health Hospital Rockwall has been named a Designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

MRI

Texas Health Rockwall*, a joint venture between Texas Health Resources and area physicians, earned ACR accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, MRI breast module, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy module, which are all used to detect and diagnose breast cancer.

The recognition follows a recent $3.7 million renovation of the hospital’s MRI suite.

“We are investing in technology, enhancing our medical services and supporting employee development to care for consumers in our growing region,” said Jason Linscott, CPA, president of Texas Health Rockwall. “Earning this designation and adding our new MRI equipment are examples of our continued focus to provide safe, high-quality care for our consumers.”

The hospital underwent several peer-review evaluations during the accreditation process. Board-certified physicians and medical physicists from ACR evaluated the hospital’s care and diagnostic services.

“Our Mission is to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve,” Jackelen Mitchusson, B.S., RT (R)(M), supervisor of the Women’s Diagnostic and Breast Center at Texas Health Rockwall. “We are proud to offer this level of care in Rockwall and for the surrounding communities.”

As the area has continued to grow, so has Texas Health Rockwall.

In 2024, Texas Health Rockwall doubled the size of the hospital by adding more patient beds, a Level 1 NICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and expanded other departments including labor & delivery, the operating rooms and the emergency room. The expansion increased access to medical services for nearby communities, especially families living east of Lake Ray Hubbard.

The hospital began as a small community facility in December 2007. It serves patients and families from Rockwall, Kaufman, Hunt, eastern Dallas and southern Collin counties.

Doctors on the medical staffs practice independently and are not employees or agents of the hospital.
